ROTC captain remembers the sacrifices of our armed forces on Veteran's Day

Remembering the sacrifices of our veterans who served in the armed forces is important, says Captain Leo Nolasco, assistant professor of Military Science/Army ROTC. Nolasco, a Fresno State graduate who earned an active duty commission and served in the 82nd Airborne Division prior to transferring to the U.S. Army Reserve, has recent experience in Iraq as company commander. Paulette FlemingFleming named one of Top 10 Professional Women
Paulette Fleming, a professor of art and design at Fresno State, has been selected as one of the Marjaree Mason Center’s Top Ten Professional Women of 2010. Candidates are nominated by organizations and individuals, and the final 10 are selected by community judges based on their accomplishments and contributions. "I appreciate the acknowledgement from the Margery Mason Center," says Fleming. "It’s very humbling because of the types of women that they have honored in the past, and the women who are in this particular group are just amazing women." See the full story with video here.

University Archives is seeking donations for the Centennial Digital Photo Project. The Centennial Digital Photo Project is a collaborative initiative between Technology Innovations for Learning and Teaching (TILT) and the University Archives of the Henry Madden Library. The main goal of the project is to share the thousands of photos in the University Archives with all Fresno State alumni, current students, retirees, faculty members, staff members and the world. Currently 9,588 photographs have been scanned and uploaded. There are approximately 10,000 more being added, but the library is accepting contributions. See the full story here.

At Thanksgiving, Americans often think of the brave people who came to this country and forged a foothold for this nation.
